What’s On in Bunbury This June

Community event - AFL fans outside Hands Oval in Bunbury

We love where we live. As we head into winter, Bunbury’s creative and community spaces are still full of life — from exhibitions and workshops through to live music, local events and good reasons to get out of the house. If you’re looking for something to do this month, here are a few things happening around Bunbury that caught our eye.

Bunbury Big Weekender

Bunbury’s biggest AFL weekend is back this June, bringing crowds, live sport and plenty of energy into the CBD. Even if you don’t have a ticket to the game, there’ll still be plenty happening across the city to get involved with. Footy fans should also keep an eye on Framed over the coming weeks — we may have a special memorabilia giveaway in the works to mark the occasion.

Tracework at Bunbury Regional Art Gallery

Bunbury is pretty lucky to have a gallery space like BRAG, and Tracework feels like one worth making time for this winter. The new South West Biennial brings together contemporary artists from across the region and beyond through large-scale works, installations and exhibitions exploring place, memory and connection.

Featured Artist @ 37 Spencer

Art lovers can explore the current featured artist showcase at 37 Spencer, featuring a curated selection of original works and limited edition prints by South West artist Janice Florczyk. Alongside the showcase, The Art Hive is also hosting coloured pencil workshops with Janice throughout June.

NO SCRUBS: 90s + Early 00s Party — Prince of Wales

A nostalgic night of throwback music, dance floor classics and early-2000s chaos is landing at the Prince on 13 June. Honestly? We’re pretty sure half of Bunbury will know every lyric.

Bunbury Community Closet

A beautiful community-driven event focused on sustainable fashion, connection and giving clothes a second life. Get down to the South West Sports Centre and grab some bargains while doing your bit for the planet. Happening 21 June in Bunbury.

Developing Your Skills — Writing Workshop

For the writers, storytellers and aspiring creatives — this local workshop is all about building confidence, refining your skills and connecting with other writers in the region.

Workshops at The Green Depot

The Green Depot is hosting some creative workshops that have definitely caught our eye, including upcoming floristry and resin workshops this month. Worth keeping an eye on if you’re looking for a hands-on creative experience.

Ahlia’s Kindness Day — Full of Beanz

Ahlia’s Kindness Day is taking place on 5 June in honour of local Bunbury girl Ahlia and families impacted by childhood brain cancer. Full of Beanz are donating 20% of sales to RUN DIPG on the day, so grab a coffee for a cause.
